OUR YOUTH PROGRAM COORDINATORS

BANJUL May 31, 2020 – The Africa Infrastructure Fund (AIF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Siga Fatima Jagne and Mr. William A. Njie as the Co-Lead Coordinators of its Youth Vocational Training Program (YVTP).

With 59 % of the Gambian population under the age of 24, the AIF believes that our young people must be supported to reach their full potential of living productive lives and meaningfully contributing to the development of the country. To this end, the Fund is partnering with young people to support them in acquiring the skills they need, for which the success of the AIF and ultimately the country will depend upon.

Therefore, the AIF is designing a vocational training program based on the following principles:

  • Recognizing the potential of our young people to be the future producers and generators of wealth, income, and opportunity.
  • Tapping into their energy, creativity, and potential longevity.

The Africa Infrastructure Fund is working to partner with local and international vocational training institutions to design tailor-made and locally based two-year vocational programs. The details of the program are available at: https://africainfrafund.org/our-future/

The current registration cycle is open and ends on 31 August 2020.

As Co- Lead Coordinators, Dr Siga Jagne and Mr. William Njie will lead and coordinate all aspects of the Youth Vocational Training Program, including communications and outreach, design, implementation, monitoring, fund-raising, and reporting.

The AIF is grateful to have both Dr Jagne and Mr Njie offer their time, pro bono.

Their appointments are effective 1 June 2020.
