William A Njie

Co-Lead Coordinator

William Njie is a strategic business advisor, leadership coach, entrepreneur, and philanthropist with over 24 years’ experience across multiple business sectors.  He has spent the last seven years in private sector development, where he has been designing, planning and implementing programs in the entrepreneurship, health, and agriculture sectors. William has successfully guided numerous start-ups and entrepreneurs on business growth and capital-raising alongside the design and implementation of business systems, governance frameworks and entrepreneurial and skills development training courses.  As a practicing Management Consultant, he has undertaken a wide range of multi-million-dollar projects, leading multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, and designing and delivering start-ups and executive level training and workshops.

Mr. William Njie is co-owner and founder of Business Process and Automations Services (BPAS), LLC in Washington DC. In partnership with GIZ in The Gambia, William designed, implemented, and led the negotiation of the out-grower scheme with farmers, and developed and implemented a nationwide Master Coach training program. As the Lead Project Manager for Horizons Clinic, he participated in negotiating terms, led due diligence exercises, negotiated with insurance companies, and managed communication with Horizons’ key stakeholders ensuring the attainment of the organization’s objectives. William has counselled more than 100 seasoned entrepreneurs and start-up businesses; developed and implemented governance structures; developed strategy and change management frameworks; performed workforce analysis, and developed staffing models.  He has also performed stakeholder analysis Policy Implementation Gap (PIG) analysis, written grant applications, developed strategy and operations plans, and developed resource mobilization strategy, among others.

Prior to starting BPAS, William worked for ITT Corporation as a Senior Program Manager where he led Program Managers. He was responsible for managing several programs of varying sizes and technical complexities. He interfaced with customers and teammates as required; monitored and reported performance against plans to ensure contractual, cost, and schedule objectives were met, and coordinated the amendment or modifications to contracts and plans as required. As part of the Network and Transportation Senior Management Team, William identified, developed, and captured new business opportunities. He also monitored and assessed competitive environment and provided insights into growth strategies.

Before joining ITT, William held various financial and program management functions at the Congress of the United States. William is an active member of the International Management Consultants and American Association of Budget and Program Analysts. He is Chairman of the Board Start-Up Incubator Gambia, and Board Member of Young Entrepreneurs Association, The Gambia. William earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in International Business with a Minor in Accounting from Howard University in Washington, DC. He has also received numerous certificates from Wharton School of Business and Thunderbird University in Leading Change Management, Global Strategy and Global Leadership Management, and Strategic Planning. Mr. Njie is also a Certified Six-Sigma.
